Lisa is a fully qualified dietitian who holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in nutrition and dietetics from the academically respected University of Wollongong in NSW, Australia.
Lisa holds experience and particular interest in long-term weight loss, diabetes management, heart disease, lactose intolerance, coeliac disease and PCOS. Having a particular interest in personalizing diets and greatly deterring from a “one size fits all approach” Lisa has recently extended her study into the areas of ‘nutrigenomics’.
Nutritional genomics is an innovative and progressive area of medicine and dietetics which involves the study of an individual’s genetic makeup and how this can greatly influence the way we respond to certain foods. Nutrigenomics has received much attention recently due to its potential for preventing and treating a number of chronic disease such as heart disease, diabetes, obesity and it is sure to be an exciting topic in the years to come.
With a background in personal training Lisa signifies that diet and exercise are highly synergistic. She can provide knowledge on how to support a healthy exercise program with the appropriate amount and type of protein along with the necessary micronutrients needed for muscle adaptation.
